Drain cover is sunk into the road surface

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4166512.

This drain cover is below the level of the road surface. I have recently replaced a punctured tyre (cost £150) for damage caused by another example of this problem, which seems to have ocurred after roadworks. I am not clear at the moment whether any damage has been caused to either front or rear tyres by having to drive over this surface to keep in lane and avoid oncoming traffic.
