I would like our public trees that has been removed replaced. And I would would like more planed on the left side of Lakes road when coming from Heathfield Road in appropriate spots were possible, ideally ornamental cherries.

  • Thank you for the enquiry, this location and any further empty tree pits will be added to the next planting phase, this runs from November 2023 to April 2024. A new tree will be planted in this time frame.

  • Is there anyway we can have the trees planted sooner then November 2023 to April 2024, they have been missing for sometime now, ideally before April 2023?

  • Thank you for the comment, we have to order our trees before the end of July for the the planting season that starts in November, this years trees have been lock in and order in July 2022 for the planting season which is between November 2022 - April 2023.

    The next planting season that starts in November 2023 will be lock in by July 2023, sadly the tree are all allocated to specific locations.

  • Other neighbours have told me this issue has been going on for years. If we were able to purchase your own trees would the council plant them or allow us to plant them?

  • Thank you for the comment, this location is on the next planting phase, we do prefer that residents do not plant trees in the vacant tree pits in the borough. We do require trees to have biosecurity passports from the nurseries that provide them and we only buy from certain providers. Insurance claims would also be an issue if anything was to happen involving the tree, that we had not planted.
