Sent to Canterbury City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4161973.
The amount of litter along the boundary of A299 (Thanet bound), including large sacks and dumped items is extremely distressing to see and appears to have increased over the last few months. There are several tyres along this stretch of road also which are hazardous. There seems to be no effective plan for a clean up of the area, which is very disappointing and concerning in terms of damage to the local environment. It is incredibly frustrating that there does not seem to be accountability of this between highways England and local councils. It is embarrassing for those passing through the county to see the roads in this state, but also it poses health hazards to the local population and endangered wildlife. There will sadly always be those who disrespect the environment, but my concern is how maintenance of these roads are not efficient or effective in cleaning up the area. With the amount of proposed house building and inevitable cars this will generate, this issue is likely to get worse, unless a plan to frequently clear the area is actioned.

There is still considerable amounts of litter and debris from brenley corner roundabout along A299 thanet bound up to turning for Herne and Herne bay. Debris also includes traffic cones and frames for traffic signs. Very unsightly and more concerning environmental hazards all along that strip.
