Scott Road, Prestbury CE Primary School

Reported via desktop in the Gritting and Grit Bins category anonymously at 09:59, Fri 20 January 2023 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4152168.

If you won't change your gritting policy for the H&S of the 350 children arriving at Prestbury CE Primary Sch every morning, please see pics of the latest lorries to become stuck outside our school (yesterday). It took our Site Manager over an hour of helping to enable either vehicle to get up Scott Road and away from blocking our school gate. You can see parents had to walk between the lorries to drop their children off - neither lorry in control. One parent slipped and fell right over and another had to shout at the driver to avoid her being hit. The wall you can see to the left of the large lorry has already been hit and damaged by a lorry in the previous cold snap - this was reported to you. We are about to pay for this to be repaired, a cost that is coming from our school budget. So CE (via us) is paying for repair to accidents that CE aren't prepared to avoid happening by putting an obviously dangerous road back on the gritting route... Please, please review with immediate effect before something more serious happens...

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
