The bottom section of 3 awful sections of road along a 100m section

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:54, Friday 20 January 2023

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later

Road really need a road sweep to get rid of the loose gravel and debris from previous "repairs". Please Hampshire don't use your new fangled bin lorry looking thing to blow loose tarmac in. It never works on this lane and actually makes them worse.

Believe it or not this IS a tarmac lane under hear, not a gravel lane.

Due to ongoing issues with the lane, disabled transport refuse to collect, and will sometimes use the other way past rockford farm, however that one is pretty bad too, regularly floods and has its own range of potholes.

Earlier in 2022 an engineer came out to assess for resurfacing of the whole 100m stretch, and then in November they came, closed the lane off with no warning for an "emergency repair", oooo excitement are they fixing it properly.... nope loose tarmac gravel blown into some sections. 1st rain after and 90% had washed out and potholes worse than ever.

Will take pictures of the other 2 sections to report later. Fyi middle section just before rockford house is worse than this.

  • State changed to: not the council's responsibility

  • How is it not the councils responsibility. This lane is an adopted road by Hampshire and they have previously repaired the road, badly, leaving it in this state.

If you are referring to the cleaning not being your responsibility, it's STILL your responsibility to fix the holes. I was merely suggesting clearing the loose gravel, left by previous repairs, first would make the repair more successful.
