Pothole in resurfacing

The road was resurfaced approx one week ago. Now a pothole has appeared in the new surface. Whoever is continuing to assign road repairs to the current contractor is failing in their duty to get value for money for the council. Clearly they use substandard materials or fail to do their job properly. No doubt they get called back time and time again and get paid for fixing the same problem over and over again. If this was not local government, the contractor would be fired, and sued for breach of contract.
