Line of potholes towards centre of road.

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4123498.

Where a series of potholes were filled last year, a series of worse ones have now appeared. They are as you travel from The first Lowick turn on the A6116 towards Corby, at the top of the hill on the right hand side before the white lines, near to the crossroads and second and third Lowick turn offs.

  • The A6116 between Brigstock and Thrapston has many deep potholes. Drivers are having to swerve to avoid hitting the pot holes. There is an accident waiting to happen....

    Since the issue was first reported in January, the safety of the road has now become a serious concern. I was driving to work in Corby (5am) in poor conditions, therefore making it impossible to see the pot holes with the constant stream of headlights in the opposing direction, subsequently causing me to hit the pothole which could have been a serious accident. The pot hole is 1.4 meters long and 80mm deep. This then caused my tyre to bulge and has buckled my wheel. I had just fitted new tyres that hadn't even seen 200 miles on them yet, as well as having a full wheel alignment and now and am forced to replace the £115 tyre as well a replacement alloy wheel as this has buckled mine. Then the car will also need another front wheel alignment £50. I would like to receive compensation for the hundreds of pounds worth of damage caused to my vehicle due to lack of maintenance and care of the road surface. The potholes along this stretch of road should be rectified as soon as possible to prevent a serious accident from occurring in the future.
