Dumbarton Road a tip

Reported via desktop in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 14:36, Thu 12 January 2023

Sent to Glasgow City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4119612.

Almost the entire stretch of Dumbarton Road from and including Thornwood Roundabout to the western city boundary with West Dunbartonshire, is a total mess - heavy litter on pavements, gutters and grass plots. Flytipping, abandoned street furniture, flyposting, overflowing bins - the full bhoona.

It’s the worst I’ve seen it in 6 years. In particular, a large ‘naturalised’ grass area in Yoker is like a tip with trapped litter in the now large clumps of overgrown grass. No chance any wildlife would make it out there alive even if tempted to go in.

Oh and it only starts improving once you leave Glasgow and hit Dunbartonshire.

Where did it all go wrong Mr Gillespie? Please get someone out the office to inspect the entire stretch then formulate a clean-up plan and regular maintenance schedule thereafter. Thanks.
