New traffic calming measure

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:02, Mon 9 January 2023

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4106796.

There is an new traffic calming measure on Barkby Thorpe road where you have to give way to oncoming traffic coming down the hill. The issue is that you can’t see oncoming traffic due to the dip in the road just before the chicane which makes it extremely dangerous. There will be a crash there if the chicane isn’t moved further up or down the road where you can see oncoming traffic.

Updates

  • No action taken to rectify so the junction is just as dangerous as ever. I have been advised that it will be reviewed as part of the planning work completion process.
