Public footpath being washed away

Reported via Android in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 08:12, Wed 4 January 2023

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4083691.

The pipe under this section of footpath has become partially blocked and restricting flow. Following the heavy rain of late creating a dam effect so the excess built-up water now flows over the top eroding the path and making the whole section hazardous to cross

Updates

  • Apart from the local farmer putting some boughs over the most eroded part nothing has changed except the water level on rhe one side has reduced thanks to the lack of rain!

  • This now worse than ever! The water has receded and left just a narrow but uneven section that is passable. I know this is a footpath on private land but the lack of response to this issue is becoming ridiculous.
