Dangerous pavement at crossing point of St Barnabas Rd and Surley Row

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 16:16, Tue 3 January 2023

Sent to Reading Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4081857.

The path at this crossing point is at a steep angle (worse than it looks in these pictures) and very dangerous for elderly and disabled people in all conditions and for everyone in wet and icy conditions. It has been in this state for a long time, and seems to get worse each time the path is dug up for work on utilities. This is the start of a stretch of approx 50m path that is in a very bad state due to multiple poor repairs. There is no path on the opposite side of this road and no alternative crossing point. This is a very heavily used stretch due to proximity of doctors surgery, community centre, school and church. It is unbelievable that it has been allowed to remain in this state for so long!
