For recent years, this 'fence' has a large gap not yet seen to, which is routinely exploited by local diet bikers. The latter access Barnham Common using it to ride around, and go further by accessing the neighboring forest via the SW corner of the common.
In both ongoing situations, pedestrians are put at risk, as bikers frequently don't care about them, driving at crazy speeds.
Today I was almost hit twice in twenty minutes by the same two helmet-free bikers (while about eight more were elsewhere) in the forest. The last I saw them I was returning home via the common, and they went past me, through the aforementioned fence gap, into Komma Belt. With no helmets or number plates, they went on the road, etc.
How long must the community wait until something constructive happens, or someone gets hurt?? And yes, the police were informed of the above.
