Reported in the Dog fouling category by Michelle Ormrod at 20:33, Sun 18 January 2009
Sent to Sefton Borough Council 2 minutes later
Since ive lived in this area (nearly 3years), we have had owners of dogs walking past and not cleaning up after their dogs. It is annoying because i have a dog myself and always clean up after him. I live in a end house on quite a busy street and there is not a day that goes by without dog muck outside my house!, i have children and visitors coming in and out and its disgusting, we have to watch every step once were outside our gate. Recently the council painted yellow dog signs on the floor, which do not last, as the paint wore away after a few weeks. It would be impossible to give names and addresses of the culprits, as its a busy road and people are passing day and night all the time.
This problem is a great irratation and health hazard.
We have commenced a scheme "payback" were offenders will be doing community service orders and tackling the problem in your area very soon.
Additionally PCSO's (community police officers) are able to give a fixed penalty notice that will fine offenders £75.
Blame the owner not the dog!
