Traffic light timing problem putting pedestrians at risk.

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:50, Wed 21 December 2022

Sent to Hull City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4051073.

There is an issue with the traffic lights at the junction that joins Beverley Road, Clough Road and Cottingham Road.

Cars are regularly driving through the pedestrian green man on the Beverley Road crossing outside Lidl. This affects the side where cars are turning right from Cottingham Road onto Beverley Road and heading south toward the city centre. Often several cars go through the green man at a time. Have mostly noticed this on an evening at rush hour.

I have been crossing this road regularly for 40 years and this never used to happen, the issue has occured since works recently took place. Please can it be fixed?

(I reported this issue a few weeks ago but it's still happening).

Updates

  • Whenever I submit a report to Fix My Street, I receive an email from Hull City Council (usually at an unsociable time such as 1am) demanding my full name and address and refusing to log the report unless I do. First, my full name is on the email the Council receives from Fix My Street and so is my personal email (the same one I use to pay my Council Tax for my address). It is still a mystery as to why the Council is demanding additional personal data (home addresses) via email for generic traffic reports and wasting my time and theirs in the process. If you would like to save money, perhaps stop this bureaucratic process of emailing everyone for an address you don't need and just fix whatever is reported.
