This road is hazardous due to not being gritted in the current icy conditions. It has been reported that vehicles are in the ditch this morning. It is unacceptable not to grit as it is a very busy road, a major route to crewe. We pay our council tax and an expectation is to be kept safe . I don’t think it is acceptable to close these reports without any responses either. There are two reports in this area about this and are both closed to updates. Please let me know why this decision was taken. Why it is a financial decision to use signage stating gritting will not be taking place instead of gritting as cold and icy conditions arise. We have at least a further week of these icy conditions expected let us have the road gritted . Lives are at risk .

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
