Smoke from neighbour’s wood burner/chimney goes in all our flats

Reported via mobile anonymously at 05:32, Fri 9 December 2022

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4024329.

Someone has a wood burner or chimney and is using it on a regular basis - the smoke goes right into our flats. I have spoken to my neighbours above me - and they are all equally as sick of it and get the smoke in their flats too. We are not sure which house is the culprit but think we can spot a chimney from over the fence that might be the cause. During this cold snap our flats are smelling of smoke all through the night - so they must have been lighting it and keeping it lit quite constantly. We are all very fed up, and I personally have lost sleep over it and had to stay at a friends when it got really bad. Can we stop them doing this or get them to only light at certain times or days? It’s not very fair on us to suffer their second hand smoke. Thanks for your help. Nick Barrett
