Pavement floods when there is heavy rain
Reported via mobile in the Road Marking category anonymously at 13:26, Fri 25 November 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
Every time there is heavy rain the pavement out side 108 and 106 The Grove pools and floods. The gutter along the roadside needs to be made deeper to allow water to run along and down a drain. This has been occurring since the road was resurfaced. With winter approaching this is a dangerous situation when the water freezes making it a hazard for pedestrians.

The matter has still not been resolved and I await information regarding action to be taken. I would point out that of the residents affected by the flooding are elderly and have health issues. These issues include brittle bone disease, peripheral arterial disease, a replacement knee, and heart issues. Irrespective of the slip hazards, having to walk out into road to avoid the flooding is putting our health and safety at risk. Please advise what action will be taken and when. In addition, could you please let me know what the procedure would be for making any claims for injuries sustained as a result of any inaction on the part of the council.

Bromley Council has assessed that future Surface Water drainage works may be required at this location. We will continue to monitor with a view to including the site on our ongoing Surface Water drainage improvement works scheme.

Bromley paving I fail to see what difference monitoring will make. The problem is not going to miraculously disappear. I note the reference to an ongoing surface water drainage improvement scheme but no timescales were mentioned. Please advise.
You will note that I previously requested information regarding the procedures associated with making a claim for any injuries sustained through the councils inaction in this matter. I have still not received the requested information. Please advise.
Lastly, I did note that the status has changed and now reads as no further action. Surely this is an error and it should read as ongoing, or in progress. Please advise.
