Plate sized pothole next to 40mph signs
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 07:52, Wed 23 November 2022
Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3985725.
There is a plate-sized missing piece of surface tarmac creating and pothole that, while not deep, has hard edges that cause vehicles wheels to smash when driving over.
Location - A30 London Road, after Memorial Road, heading towards Basingstoke, right next to the two 40mp signs in the beige/yellow road surface area. Near the curb stone. You can see in the old Google map images I have attached that there have been rough tarmac repairs here before, this is what has eroded creating a pothole.
It cannot be seen in the dark as there is no lighting and my tyre and alloy wheel crashed hard on this long & wide pothole this morning!

This pothole is getting worse as it's getting wider and you cannot avoid it due to pinch point curb stones + oncoming traffic.

Pothole getting wider and drivers are now aware and taking evading action by driving into the wrong lane. Dangerous with oncoming traffic.

Wow, a visible slab of tarmac is missing but the council have deemed "no further action required" after "inspection". So watch your tyres and alloys people, likely we won't get a fix until someone blows a tyre!

A new pothole forming literally right next to the repaired section. Same issue, tarmac is wearing down, hard edges are appearing.
