Large tree clearly with issues. Large dead branches indicating rot or disease

Reported via desktop in the Tree Requires Pruning category anonymously at 16:22, Fri 18 November 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3975507.

A huge tree over twice the height of our houses which clearly has rotten/dead branches indicating a possible bigger issue. Clearly it represents a danger in a storm. We have had issues with unkept trees from neighboring gardens falling on our cars during the recent storms causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. This is without a doubt the most dangerous of the trees.

  • One more thing - The pin doesn't accurately represent the trees location. It is outside the gardens of the houses on Mead way. Only a few metres from the corner of Cornford close.

  • Thank you for the comment, I have told the contractor to attend site first thing next week to complete the works, Apologises for the delay in action.

  • Hi, FYI nobody has been out to address this yet. I understand that it is Christmas but the concern for me now is winter storms. In addition to my original fear, now that the leaves have fully dropped it has revealed more areas of the tree which have broken branches which indicates the condition of the tree is worse than i originally suspected.

  • Thank you for the comment, I have informed the contractor and have asked them to attend immediately. Apologise for the delay in action.

  • Update - in the last week i've seen two visits presumably to assess the tree. A large amount of fallen debris from another tree was cleared and taken away but nothing has happened with the tree in question yet.

  • Tree surgeons did attend and remove some of the dead branches however i did expect them to remove a bit more. It's too big for a tree in such close proximity to people's houses.

  • Hi, ok that's a fair response and has been noted. However, since I've made you aware on a number of occasions through this ticket, which i've personally archived for the purposes of future reference, I'm also making you aware that if this tree does cause any damage to my property I'll be well within my rights to sue for the damage caused on grounds of negligence. Myself and my neighbours as I've mentioned have already had damage from large surrounding trees and incurred the costs of said damage and we won't be absorbing those costs ourselves again in the future. Regards
