Bad state of repair

Reported via mobile in the Slabs - Uneven / Damaged / Cracked category anonymously at 10:10, Thu 17 November 2022

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3971072.

Ok, this is a big issue, grasmere green is a forgotten area as it can't be seen from the road side. The footpath drains are blocked and don't work. The drainage gully around the green is blocked and uneven so doesn't work at all. The footpaths around the green and leading into the green and all the courts are in such a bad state of repair, from being dug up and relayed, tree roots and damage from tree removal. There has been little to no work done over the 20 years I have been here and image that little was done before that. The whole area needs all the drainage full jetted out and clearing if not completely replacing and modernisation. Plus all the footpaths need resurfacing before someone falls over. There are many older people that live in and around the green that could be badly injured if they fall.

I am hoping that this will be looked at as my last report about drainage is still outstanding after nearly 2 years.

  • Is anything going to be happening with the drainage as well or is this not being looked into

  • Hoping that the whole are is getting sort not just the small bit that has been painted yellow, as there is a lot more to the issue than that small part. Pretty much all the footpath around the green has issues as well as the paths leading to it.

Also there is no mention about getting the drainage sorted in the original response. If someone was to come out and see the area again, i would happily walk around and point out all the issues that they are not seeing.

  • Again a small plaster has been applied to a bigger issue. small area replaired, drainage issue has been completely ignored as before.

If you just spent the money sometimes and did the whole job in one go you might save money in the long run.

Not sure why this site even exists,as the work is never fully completed

  • Still the same as it was 3 months ago. Small area fixed, nothing done about the drainage issues or the other 99% or the bad footpaths in the area. But it is in Wellingborough and not Corby or Kettering, so will probably never get fixed.

  • Still not sorted, even with speaking to the local councillors and getting them involved

  • Still in the same state. Guessing that the works will never be done

  • Just trying to figure out the point of this site and the follow ups as nothing is ever fixed. The drains are still blocked, the footpaths still in bad repair. Even getting councillors involved and nothing happens. When someone falls and is injured badly and sues you will you then take notice. I will post more images in 3 months when I get another pointless review come through

  • Still the footpaths around the green are a mess. It.does look like someone too a scope out of a drain. But has not broken it so made the situation worse
