Outside Rohmahal Indian uneven pavement
Reported via desktop in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category by Gillian Henshaw at 21:26, Sat 12 November 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 436661.
Outside Number 23 Aswell Street (Rohmahal Indian Restaurant) there is an uneven paving slab which has caused my partner to trip and fall splitting open his knee cap down to the bone. The bleeding was very bad and he had to go immediately to Grimsby Hospital 20.20pm Saturday evening 12th November 2022. We are awaiting the outcome of his visit.

Graham Sharpe had to return to Grimsby hospital today, Sunday 13th November to be admitted for surgery to his right knee and was kept in overnight as the surgery involved full anaesthetic for the work undertaken. He now can't drive for at least 2 weeks and has subsequently lost his job when he contacted his workplace today as it involves heavy manual lifting and driving a lorry all day I think compensation should reflect his job loss

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because there are no slabs outside the Indian restaurant, this is a tarmac footway. Thank you for reporting this matter.

It was the kerb stone in the photo on the edge of the pavement. My error calling it a paving slab, I did actually paving kerb stone as can be quite clearly seen in the photographs sent as proof. The pavement is all tarmac but the kerb stone outside the Indian restaurant is the raised slab I am complaining about. The fall resulted in knee surgery on Sunday 13th November 2022 at Grimsby Hospital. I do have other photos as proof if required regarding the location

Many thanks for your Fix My Street update, the additional photos of the exact location and correction to the original information received. We are very sorry to hear of the incident and wish the person involved a full and speedy recovery. After re-inspection of the kerbs following your update, it has been found that the kerb in question is not at a level that we would repair according to our HIAMP policy. We will continue to monitor this and should any changes occur, we will assess and action accordingly. Thank you for reporting this matter.

Grahams injury due to tripping over the kerb has worsened as due to either the fall and bracing himself or because of having to use crutches, he now has a trapped nerve in his left should and is in extreme pain. How do we make a claim as this is unacceptable
