Lack of pedestrian crossing or school warning signs

Reported in the Road traffic signs category by Andrew Holmes at 07:32, Tue 15 October 2013

Sent to West Sussex County Council 3 minutes later

Lack of pedestrian crossing or school warning signs on dangerous section of road. Recent RTA's and plans to heavily develop the adjacent area with no plans for a crossing. Very dangerous - particularly those crossing with young children / during peak times / school runs.

I can advise that the provision of a pedestrian crossing over the A283 has been identified as a requirement and a contribution sought from the Applicant that, in the event the development is given permission, would enable WSCC to progress a pedestrian crossing scheme.

If the development is permitted we will enter into a legal agreement (Section 106 Agreement); the contribution will then have various triggers such as commencement of development, first occupation etc which will enable the funds to be available at the appropriate time.
