Blocked drain outside 23 Washington Road

Sent to Mid Sussex District Council and West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3941935.

For some time the drain outside 23 Washington Road has needed attention and has been reported before. It is unable to cope with the volume of water especially with recent downpours. It leaves water covering the whole road for several inches. With traffic going through this forces water down the garden paths of 23 and 25 . The last time this was reported I was told a car was covering the drain therefore nothing was done, the time before a lady notified me that she had managed to clear the drain with a stick !!! Could we please have a proper effort to clear this ?

  • Although WSCC have been in touch nothing has been done to the drain. They are wanting pictures now . Unfortunately I wasn’t at home to provide any after the last downpour of rain so as soon as we get substantial rain I will be on the case again. It would help enormously if the fallen leaves could be collected and swept from the sides of the road.
