Flooding road and pavement

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 10:02, Thu 3 November 2022

Sent to Richmond upon Thames Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3935233.

This has been going on for too long. We have been in our property for 17 years and the issue gets worse each year. Every time there is heavy rain, the road and pavement along the Lower Mortlake Road flood due to the drains being blocked. The pavement becomes impassable in two places along this short stretch, forcing pedestrians dangerously into the road. The road also floods, causing huge puddles that a) sometimes force vehicles into a single file, and b) mean pedestrians are regularly splashed by passing vehicles. Please can you sort this problem now before the autumn and winter rains cause us more misery?

Updates

  • The problem persists and people are once again being forced to walk between the parked cars and the road. It is only a matter of time before there is a serious injury to a pedestrian because of this issue. Get it sorted before someone dies.
