Fly tipping

Reported via desktop in the Flytipping category anonymously at 16:07, Tue 1 November 2022

Sent to Breckland District Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3930349.

I am trying to report a fly tipping incident.NCC highways say that that it is not their problem but the landowners. They suggest that national highways own the land. On their reporting website they say it is not their responsibility. Perhaps you can help. The waste comprises about 10 black bags contents unknown, mattress and a two seater sofa and several paint pots some of which are not empty.

Updates

  • Norfolk County Council AND National Highways both PASS the BUCK as regards litter/maintenance. One partial answer we have found is move the Fly tip/litter on to the Highway land which IS under their control. This area might be under the control of the District Council. Or you might pursue andrew.proctor.cllr@norfolk.gov.uk it takes many emails to get a decent response but this is all we can do-badger those 'in charge'

  • Have established that the land is owned by National Highways and following a phone call to them, I was assured 3 weeks ago that action would be taken. As of today, the rubbish is still there.

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Unfortunately you have to badger them. I made a campaign about Fly Posting to Breckland DC and Norfolk CC until it was eventually fixed. You have to keep on REMINDING them. As this post does NOT go to BDC or NCC you have to put it all in again and again. We have the same with Forestry Commission re Thetford Forest. Keep on being a nuisance. We have one contact with BDC that does work. email me.
