Two Footpath Defining Pillars Missing

Reported via desktop in the Fence/Railing category anonymously at 19:03, Fri 21 October 2022

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3905658.

During the summer, cars parking for the Hill Head Beach knocked down two of the Footpath Defining Wooden Pillars which have also been removed. Now cars are using the gap as a layby and regularly park in the gap up to the wire fence and block the footpath causing pedestrians to walk in the roadway.

  • Two positions were marked by HCC with white circles but due to further car parking in the gap and recent rain the earth is churned into mud and the markings have now gone. No new pillars yet.

  • There has been no activity since the council marked the positions for the pillars with white spray circles. Cars have continued to park there blocking the footpath and the white rings have been lost in the soft mud created by the car wheels.
