Road drainage upgrade not completed

Reported via mobile in the Blocked Drain category anonymously at 19:28, Wed 19 October 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3901025.

This road floods. The Council know about it. Officers came out to mark the road with colours paints showing where works would be undertaken. The marks have worn away with no action to stop the flooding. When will this task be completed? It’s now been over three years!

  • Bromley Council - this job remains on the highway drainage works plan. The regrettable delay was caused by issues with the Highway Maintenance Contractor which are currently being addressed.

  • This says the case is closed! No action apart from road markings have been made. Cachets Lane is not even on your list of Bromley roads, despite it being in Bromley. This fault has been reported for seven years. I want the Councillor to contact me. How can it be closed if the area keeps flooding. I have heard so many hollow promises from Council Officers concerning this flooding area where disabled and walkers cannot pass. Water gets up to sills making access difficult in cars.

  • Thank you for your enquiry. We apologise for any confusion from the last message but this job certainly isn't closed. The council has planned to install new infrastructure at this location, the delay to works has been caused by a health and safety issue. We hope that the works will be completed spring/ summer 2023.

    State changed to: Action scheduled
