Overhanging Vegetation from Private Land
Reported via desktop in the Overhanging Vegetation from private land category anonymously at 18:35, Thu 15 September 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later
Along Highfield Drive, BR2 0RX, there is overhanging vegetation from the garden of Combe Dean, 25 Westmoreland Road. This vegetation starts with shrubs nearer to Westmoreland Rd, then there are many branches of Lime Trees and at the end of their curtilege, by their garages, there is a bramble and a low tree branch. This street is heavily used by pedestrians at school times and the overhanging vegetation is below head height and obstructing normal free movement of the pavement. The same problem recurs every year and has been an increasing problem for about two months this year.

No apparent action yet. Thin overhanging leafless twigs are virtually invisible at night and catch on face and clothing.

Yesterday, the lime tree twigs were cut back and left in a heap on the pavement. The heap was still there at 12.30pm today (although it was begining to get spread out by passing adults and children).

The cut twigs are in a scattered heap and are a serious trip hazard at night for those of us with limited vision. Also, the overhanging laurel further down Highfield Drive are still there and similarly is a hazard at night.
