Chicken bones everywhere

Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 01:14, Sun 11 August 2013

Sent to Merton less than a minute later

Ever since the fish and chip shop on Christchurch Road started selling fried chicken, the pavements in the surrounding area have been littered with chicken bones on a daily basis. This is very unhygienic and can encourage rats and other vermin to the area and is also a choking hazard for dogs being walked in the area. It also makes the area look messy. Please can the owner of the shop be made to take more responsibility for the actions of their customers, such as providing litter bags for their waste bones. They should provide litter bin(s) outside their premises and indeed Merton council should provide additional bins along Christchurch Road, and neighbouring roads such as South Gardens, which leads to the park. Thank you.
