In progress
Pot holes that are impossible to miss.
Reported via mobile in the Potholes / Highway Condition category anonymously at 19:27, Wed 24 August 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3778558.
Several large pot holes and large pieces of stone sticking out of verge. This is a section of road which is a single track so no way of avoiding the pot holes or the stones, especially if another road user is trying to travel in the opposite direction squeezing through the very small gap.
Better signs to give up hill traffic right of way would also be good.
The whole road is riddled with pot holes. A person from the council needs to physically walk the whole road to fully appreciate just how many pot holes and dangers there are on this road. The work men leave half of the pot holes when they do come, and they always come on a rainy day meaning the repairs are ruined within weeks.
The hedge rows needs trimming right back, especially along the perimeter of fermyn woods.
In all honesty, the road needs completely resurfacing but I'm guessing that would only increase the ridiculous amount of traffic which already uses this road everyday, at all hours.

I am a different user of this road from the person making the original report. I note that Northamptonshire Highways response still says "in progress" a year later. Some remedial work earlier this year did not address the sloping section of road between the trees. The potholes here are getting bigger and more dangerous. The road needs properly resurfacing while the weather is drier, and certainly before this winter.

I drove along the length of Harley Way today on a visit to Lyveden National Trust property. From the Brigstock end to Lyveden was awful. I was having to slalom between the potholes as many looked deep enough to cause real damage to my car. Thinking it may be better to make my homeward trip without having to go back over that stretch, I drove the other section from Lyveden to Benefield Road. It was almost as bad! A lot of what could be passing places are too pot-holed to use so, as the original poster mentioned, it can be difficult to pull over for other cars. The terrible condition of this road has put me off visiting Lyveden again, which is a shame as it’s an interesting place.
