Speed table put in road even though residents said no.

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 19:16, Wed 10 August 2022

Sent to Waltham Forest Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3745405.

The residents completed a LBWF survey where the outcome was a "no" to the speed table/hump on Old Church Road (there was already an island which slowed the traffic down). However, the council went ahead anyway and ignored the residents. Now our homes vibrate throughout the day and night along with an increase in noise as the larger vehicles (buses and lorries etc,.) thunder across the hump. LBWF are not addressing the problem they have caused.

Updates

  • The London Borough of Waltham Forest Council and in particular the council 'leaders' are well aware of the extra noise pollution and the earth tremor-like vibrations that are affecting numerous residents regarding the unmonitored and ineffective 'speed calming measures;' they do not care as too busy pushing paper and ticking boxes. So much for the council's slogan: "Our ambition is that everybody in Waltham Forest enjoys a quality life." How ironic - one of the worst councils you could have the displeasure of dealing with!

  • LBWF still refusing to listen to genuine concerns of residents despite "the community being at the heart of what we do" as stated on the LBWF council website - empty rhetoric as usual! LBWF want a 20mph zone but are not interested in monitoring this so what's the point? Tax payers money squandered away as usual by an inept and useless council - what's new?!
