Cycle lane missing bicycle picture

Reported via desktop anonymously at 20:08, Sat 6 August 2022

Sent to Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3735539.

The is a cycle lane along this road which is a great thing to promote cycling, especially on the approach of the school. The section of the cycle lane on the road between the fire station and the traffic calming give way feature lane is marked with dashed lines, however, it's not obvious to anyone that it is indeed a cycle lane as there is no image on the tarmac of a bicycle outline on the cycle lane itself. It's currently impossible to cycle on the cycle land as cars are always parked on it during working hours, perhaps because they are unaware that it is a cycle lane - so adding this image of a bicycle can only help - would it be possible to add this?

Updates

  • The cycling lane on Fairfield Road Market Harborough is being parked on by cars as (without any signage) it’s not obvious to anyone that it is a cycle lane. I am told that as the lane was was marked in accordance with the regulations, nothing more will be done.

  • The cycle lane on this street has no markings to indicate to anyone that it’s actually a cycle lane. So instead it has been adopted as a car park.
