Street lights not working
Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category anonymously at 09:45, Sat 6 August 2022
Sent to Essex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3734600.
We have lived here for many decades and, in the past, whenever a street light goes out we have reported it to the parish council (Sheering) and it has been fixed fairly quickly. At the beginning of the pandemic we reported that two of the lights were out (there are only three) and the PC said it was nothing to do with them. The district council (Epping Forest) and the county council (Essex) have also said the same. All three say that they are not responsible! So it is obvious that one of them is denying its responsibility.

I certainly do want to leave an update. We haven't had a peep out of either the Parish Council, District Council or County Council. They have totally ignored this!

Finally! The Parish Council seem to have accepted their responsibility for the lights. They are in the process of being fixed.

They fixed two of the three lights by replacing them with LED lighting. The third light was also replaced but didn't work. It is now two months later and the third light is still not working.
