Pedestrian crossing need pedestrian operated signal crossing due to busy traffic

Reported via mobile in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 21:59, Sat 23 July 2022

Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3701279.

This crossing is not safe due to the excessive speeds of cars. On the way back from town to the station people want to risk crossing from the right hand side to the left before reaching the crossing near the roundabout. I saw a man step out but a motorcyclist came towards him. What if a mother pushing a pram stepped out in front of a bus or lorry? This means there should be a crossing on the Causeway nearer to town, and definitely with POS so motorists have to stop. The lack of a safe crossing is preventing people using public transportation ie train to visit Arundel, and pedestrians to the town should not be discouraged from visiting.
