Hospital users parking on Tollgate road
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:14, Thu 4 July 2013
Sent to Test Valley Borough Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 370116.
People visiting the hospital are parking their cars at the east end of Tollgate road, turning it into a single lane road. Traffic is backing up Monday to Friday, especially during the school run.
This is also affecting residents that are finding it hard to enter/exit the road at these times.
There are some old lines on the road that look like parking restrictions. These should be re-instated.

The problem has got worse. At peak times of the day, the left hand side of the road leading up to the junction with Charlton road is solid with parked cars. This means that the road is a single lane from number 12 until the junction.
Other more quiet roads in the area have parking restrictions because of their proximity to the train station.Yet Tollgate road which can be a very busy road has no such restrictions.
It is mostly hospital users that park here, but there is a growing number of train station users parking here now.
The photo is from Google maps and does not really show the extent of the problem.
