  • Thank you for your enquiry, site visited. Land owner has been contacted and works have been instructed for the dropped gate to be repaired, we have also enquired about getting a higher bridle latch installed to the other gate however the land owner has no legal obligation to do so.

  • Still open, via questionnaire, 10:38, Sat 6 August 2022

  • Nothing has changed. I believe gates on bridlleways should be able to be open from the back of the horse without dismounting. Neither of these gates can be opened whilst mounted. Also herds of loose horses make it dangerous to ride through this field

  • Any update from WNC regarding a repair for this defect?

  • The dropped gate has now been very well replaced thank you. The latch on the first gate is still far too low to be reached from horseback from the north side and impossible to reach over the top of the gate when approaching from the side and in between 2 gates. I believe the landowner does have to provide fixings that are operable from horseback.
