Nuisance parking by pupils of garforth academy

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 09:12, Sat 25 June 2022

Sent to Leeds City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3622120.

Since single yellow lines have been put down on the top end of knightsway near Garforth Academy, there are problems now with pupils parking at the bottom half if knightsway and also now on kingsway, where there are no yellow lines. They are double parked down kingsway and all on the pavement, to a point where you can barely get past on foot let alone anyone with a disability scooter, wheelchair or pram. The problem has simply been moved from the original area to further down the road!! Why did you not issue one resident pass per household instead, or yellow line the entire area within a 1/2 mile radius of the school, as the situation now is ridiculous. They are parked all over kingsway leaving just enough room for one car to pass through the middle!! Also there is now a problem with knightsway and poplar avenue being used as a rat run, they drive through like a formula one race track (even though its 20mph limit) and someone is going to get killed. There has already been 2 accidents this year, so please look at this problem too and put traffic calming measures in or a camera. Sorry about the length of this email but the idea of yellow lining where you have has quite simply caused the exact same problem further down the same road! Thankyou
