Defective manhole cover & dangerous pavement
Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category by Aidan Wilson Thorne at 15:08, Thu 16 June 2022
Sent to West Sussex County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3601766.
By lamp post 17 opposite North Drive, by the Old Baptist Chapel, there is a defective manhole cover which has been `clicking` for weeks. Someone painted a blue line around it, but that has now worn off. It is really noisy. And, right next to it, on the pavement, a poorly repaired hole about a metre square has now sunk so much that it has become a trip hazard.

Please note - the location of the problem in Station Road BN164HN is is by Lamp post 27 not 17.
My apologies.

The defective pavement has been fixed. The clicking noise from the defective man hole cover has been reduced but it still remains noisy depending on what size vehicle has gone over it.

The defective manhole cover is still annoying. With the amount of HGVs using the Village as a cut-through, the road surface along Station Road is taking a real hammering. The speed bumps by the junction with North Drive are now beginning to crumble. But, I doubt if this area is seen as a priority.

Is anybody at the council listening? The man hole cover by lamp post 27 in Station Road, Angmering, opposite North Drive, remains unfixed. It clicks every time a vehicle goes over it. I walk the road daily and the sound is getting worse. The resident in the Old Baptist Chapel says it's infuriating. Yes, you will have put in temporary traffic lights to do it. But, we can cope. The through traffic in this Village is appalling. Yes, I know the A259 dualling is nearing completion but, spare a thought for the residents! At the same time, please get someone to hack back the vegetation along that very narrow pavement which is overgrown with brambles Do you really want people to walk in the road? and, that includes mothers with babies in push chairs!
