Poor Lighting on Footpath

Reported via desktop in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 15:22, Tue 14 June 2022

Sent to Hampshire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3596259.

The council have recently installed two solar powered street lights at the bottom of Bell Meadow but seems to have forgotten to provide lighting at the top between St Johns Close and the top of Quince Tree Way. This was asked for many years ago when lighting was put in along with the now defunct cycle path.

  • Should read Michells Field not Bell Meadow

  • I have canvased all residents who live in Quince Tree Way and not one objected to getting some lighting between Quince Tree Way and St Johns Close due to the path being very dangerous for pedestrians. Not only do older people feel there is a potential physical threat of being mugged or otherwise but also they could trip as the path is so narrow and lie there abandoned over a winter night. Something needs to be done to make this path safe. The path is used by school children as well as commuter and residents.

  • Any update from council on light at the top of Mitchells field?
