Uneven Road surface on roundabout
Reported in the Roads/highways category by John Hollins at 05:23, Wed 22 May 2013
Sent to Solihull Borough Council 2 minutes later
The surface of the road on this roundabout is uneven it causes problems for motorcyclists. I regularly cross this roundabout on a motorcycle and coming down Chelmsley Road approaching the MultiStory Car Park on the Left, the lane markings show to stay in the left hand lane to go ahead over the roundabout. However on a motorcycle keeping left whilst going round this round about is impossible. The road surface is all broken up and has a number of potholes. Several times I have had to swerve to avoid falling from my motorcycle. Please can this be resurfaced as soon as before I have an accident.
I have reported this many times too. And it's a crucial pinchpoint for police vehicles leaving the police station. This is in urgent need of resurfacing.

Although this has now been resurfaced the quality of finish is appalling and near the Police Station side of the island there is a 6" ridge in the surface. This is a danger to cyclists, motorcyclists and potentially other traffic.

Hi Rob, I picked this up as a local Green Councillor. I keep an eye on this site. I've followed this up. I'm told an officer has visited the site today to have a look and established that this does need work. An order has been placed so if the contractors are working efficiently (and I don't know if they are), it won't be long before this is done. Chris
