Noise from A34 increasing

Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 13:12, Tue 7 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3577886.

I have lived in Drayton for over 5 years, and the noise from the A34 has been palpable. In the last year the noise has been increasing dramatically, from the Drayton roads in Whitehorns way, Fisher Close and Hilliat Fields the noise has been getting much worse throughout the day and night, with the loudest I have experienced around Fisher Close. I would appreciate if this could be investigated, and potentially a suggested solution would be to build sound barriers between the A34 and village. Previously the authorities resurfaced the road with a sound dampening surface, this worked for only a couple of weeks before being worn down, if there could be something permanent we can all be at peace. Thank you for reading.
