Tree on corner makes turning right into warwick road hazardous

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 17:31, Sat 14 May 2022

Sent to Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3525671.

There is a green tree that is obscuring vision around the bend of Fleckney Road that when turning right into Warwick Road is dangerous. You are not able to see far enough down Fleckney Road (towards fleckney) to safely turn right if the oncoming vehicles are travelling at speed. I have witnessed 3 near misses since the tree has grown leaves.

Updates

  • The overgrown verges are making the corner even more dangerous. I support Wilding of verges just not on very dangerous corners.

  • I agree with both of the above points. Also visibility is limited when travelling from Warwick Road turning right into Kibworth Road, towards Fleckney. Foliage to left obstucts the view of vehicle coming out of Kibworth. Again this is due to the over grown foliage.

  • This is still really dangerous. The advert area has been strummed but the dangerous vision obscuring vegetation and shrub still remains. Someone tried to undertake me today as I stopped to make the right turn to ensure nothing was coming with the low sun.

  • This is really dangerous, if a car comes at high speed there isn’t enough clearance of view to see it.
