No signpost for the byway (Bacton RB 14A)

Reported via desktop in the Footpaths/ Rights of way (usually not tarmac) category anonymously at 11:50, Friday 13 May 2022

Sent to Norfolk County Council less than a minute later

No signpost, where the byway leaves the main, metalled, Walcott Road. The byway leads to the coast, and Watch House Gap, but this fact is far from clear to anybody unfamiliar with the locality. Under s.27(2)(b) of the Countryside Act 1968, the highway authority has a duty to show on the signpost, so far as the highway authority consider convenient and appropriate, where the restricted byway leads, and the distance to any place or places named on the signpost. It would, surely, be highly convenient and appropriate for such information to get included on the signpost here.
