Blind exit onto highway

Reported via desktop in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 15:43, Tue 10 May 2022

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3515850.

Brambles etc growing on the verge obscure my view of traffic approaching from right. There is no visibility from the left so I have to take a chance every time I leave. 50mph speed limit on this road!

Updates

  • Highways Dept say that this vegetation is not owned by Leics CC...and does nor present a safety issue. I would disagree.

  • I am lost for words. Since my last report, LCC has been out and cut the verge to a width of 18 inches approx in several stretches of Abbey Road where there are no dwellings and also almost directly opposite my entrance. Further more, on my side of the road about 100 yards distant from the track (towards Coalville) has also been cut. I still have a blind exit. When it is safe to stand in the road to take photos I will submit them.
