Gate located on the bridleway is not suitable for horse riders

Reported via mobile in the Gate - Damaged/ Missing category anonymously at 14:26, Wed 20 April 2022 using FixMyStreet Pro

Sent to Northamptonshire Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3470897.

This gate is located on a bridle way is not suitable for horse riders, it is impossible to open and close this gate on horseback as the catch is too low and the fallen gate post and overgrown bramble bushes make it impossible to reach the catch from the bridge side whilst mounted. Whilst I appreciate you have been and looked at this gate, and deemed it to be ‘operational and accessible’, I doubt that you were riding a horse at the time, this gate is not fit for purpose and the barbed wire in close proximity is not only dangerous, but an accident waiting to happen.
