Grid needs replacing causing excessive flooding

This grid has been here for over 25 years and every time it rains it’s gets blocked. This causes buildup of rainwater and in some cases leads to the entire road being flooded. As can be seen the path has started eroding away due water buildup. The owner who lives at the house goes out each time it’s blocked to unblock the grid, which is dangerous considering drivers don’t slow down. A new grid, without a vertical grate, and with a bigger pipe to the main drain would prevent this from happening. The current capacity is simply not enough.
