Branches crashing onto pavement and road

Reported via desktop in the Trees (on the highway verge) category by John Hammond at 17:15, Thursday 31 March 2022

Sent to Hertfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Walking along Chadwell about 3.30 today, it’s been a bit windy but not excessive. About 10 yards ahead a whole branch of a big Scott’s pine crashed down. It sits on the corner of no 19 Chadwell. If we had been underneath we’d have been seriously injured. I confronted no 19 house owner who said it wasn’t his responsibility and to report it to the council. There are many more loose branches waiting to fall and to be honest the tree is far too big and dangerous to remain there

Updates

  • Disappointing not to have any reaction. If we had been 1 minute sooner we’d have been crushed by the falling bough

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • Resounding silence. Unlike the crashing to the ground of the boughs I’ve seen nothing and heard nothing on the subject
