Updates

  • Having spoken to neighbours, we feel we have a strong argument to site a set of porta-potty type units which would be sufficient for a short to medium time solution whilst the council ponders the decision of placing static toilets next to the garages by the thoroughthrough leading from Churchlands. The temporary toilets could still be kept after constriction to ease congestion on the main toilet area. We feel this will draw many residents from the surrounding areas of New Romney such as the disabled and the elderly after tiring shopping trips to the high street. Perhaps a water fountain and posts for dog walkers to tie their pets to as well?

Just as an afterthought, perhaps a mural could be painted on the toilets and parts of the garages celebrating the Jubilee. Although I have to admit, not all the neighbours agreed with the mural. Perhaps a mural featuring a few residents, to really bring the community together.

Also we have talked about adding play park type additions to the green areas, such as a swing set, roundabout and slide to keep the kids off the streets. If the council cannot add these what is the legality of buying them ourselves and setting them up? I'll add a separate post about this as we think this is a good idea for the familys of the community of the surrounding streets to come to play safely
