Collapsed Gully

Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 14:23, Mon 21 March 2022

Sent to Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3405034.

The road floods in the dip before starting to ascend the hill. This is caused by poor drainage, blocked ditches. LCC only seem to have the competence to repair the pothole every now and again around the gully frame rather than fix the actual cause to the problem. This has been the case for over 3 years now! It is my intention to make a FOI request for costs and approach our Councillor for justification of costs. The area adjacent to the railway bridge in The Hollow is being cleared of trees. The mud and stones left on the carriageway is horrendous and the mud at the edge of the road is encroaching by at least 2 feet. This is narrowing the road further increasing the risk of a hit under the bridge. Why is this allowed to happen? The contractors should be clearing the carriageway properly every day, not just a quick sweep doing half a job!
