Brainless parking

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 16:28, Sat 19 March 2022

Sent to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and Leicestershire County Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3401013.

Large collection of vans and cars double parked including corners making it unsafe to enter or exit the street.

I fear that some of these drivers may be zombies. They may need help. No rational person would park in this way.

Last time I looked, parking on a corner was illegal and parking opposite another car on a corner both illegal and stupid.

Please address this issue. We have elderly neighbours who regularly need an ambulance and currently they would not get through.

I'd suggest airlifting these vehicles as I'm sure the owners would not even notice they are missing.

Updates

  • Parking continues to reduce access to road. Pavement fully covered by cars on left hand side. Potentially problematic for emergency vehicles and deliveries. Refuse collection has previously been affected.

Pavement obstruction dangerous for pedestrians, especially children walking around blind corners, where cars are also parked daily. They have to walk on the road.

This is becoming an issue for pedestrians and cyclists, and will be more so when children return to school.

Please consider double yellow lines at corners both ends at least to provide a safer street. Also surely complete covering of pavements is illegal?

Please look at this ongoing issue.
